Sep 6, 2016 · On October 7, 2013, coinciding with the premiere of Peg + Cat and the closure of PBS Kids Go! as part of a program restructuring strategy, PBS Kids received a major rebrand. With it, the Dot variant of the logo was officially retired and the Dash variant became the sole logo for PBS Kids.
Logo: We see the PBS Kids logo from before (most often Dash) placed against a background that differs on the variant. Often times, Dash is replaced by a character from a PBS Kids show (mostly the kids from Zoom ), or a kid depending on the variant.
It's the end of an era for PBS Kids. After more than 20 years, PBS Kids is officially ditching the channel's mascots, Dash and Dot, in the logo.

RIP old Pbs Kids Logo 1999-2022. It's so baffling to me that they would change it now after so long, the Dash logo has been so synonymous with PBS Kids for so long and not only that but removing Dash from the logo will make it less recognizable for kids and might make the brand weaker.

The channel was shut down on September 26, 2005 and was replaced by PBS Kids Sprout (now Universal Kids), which was developed in partnership with Comcast Corporation (who later bought full control of the network via NBCUniversal). PBS relaunched the PBS Kids Channel on January 16, 2017.
