There are two pretty simple ways to achieve this—you can unlock one-day access to all Christmas effects by completing the Frost Moon event, or you can adjust your device's system time to make the game think you're playing during Christmas.
The wiki actually takes that message from the game itself. I'm pretty sure that it says in the 3ds:"Tap to open" and they mispelled it most likely.
