your social club account is MANDATORY, all of your account is linked to it. steam only lets you launch the game, if you follow the launch procedure then you can see that it immediatly launchs the rockstar game launcher. DO NOT delete your social club account. it will make your saves useless, delete your online account and revoke access to the game.
