The colors for similarity ranges are: Blue: No matching text. Green: One word to 24% matching text. Yellow: 25-49% matching text. Orange: 50-74% matching text. Red: 75-100% matching text.
There's a huge difference between it saying that 65% is plagiarized, but from 50 different sources vs. 65% plagiarized from one or two sources. One is legitimate plagiarism, the other is likely a mistake made by TurnItIn. TurnItIn will literally flag your citations and properly cited quotes. It will also often flag common phrases.

Turnitin's "AI detection" is crap, and so are most other services. Point out the similarities with past papers, and have someone else review. Kick this shit up. The burden of proof of this accusation is on your prof, and remind them of the terms of Turnitin even point out that it's a beta product that's crap.
