Aug 28, 2024 · Because the Spirit searches all things, including “the deep things of God,” He effectively reveals divine things to believers. The Spirit’s search is not a passive observation of what God is doing but is an active and thorough exploration of God’s redemptive plan in Christ.
For God has unveiled them and revealed them to us through the [Holy] Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things [diligently], even [sounding and measuring] the [profound] depths of God [the divine counsels and things far beyond human understanding].
God reveals the truthfulness of these things to us through His Spirit, making it possible for us to believe something we cannot observe with our own physical senses. Evidence can lead us towards God (Psalm 19:1, Romans 1:18–23), but only faith and the Spirit can lead us to accept God (Matthew 7:7–8; John 4:44).
