Distance: 8 miles. Difficulty: Moderate. This is one of the best hikes in the Catskills for novice hikers looking for a bit more of a challenge.
Kaaterskill Falls Trail: Hike distance: 2 miles in and out. Difficulty: Easy to moderate. Starting point: Laurel House Parking lot. Kaaterskill Falls is in my opinion one of the most best waterfalls in the Catskills and without a doubt the largest. It’s a 2 layer waterfall you can explore from the top-bottom.

- Frick Pond Loop. This popular hike is a 2.2-mile loop with scenic views of the pond and surrounding mountains, wildlife and bird-watching opportunities, and a boardwalk stroll through a hemlock grove.
