  2. May 7, 2013 · The Spotify.exe I was directed to was a shortcut (d,oh). Rightclick on Spotify.exe in Start Menu\Programs folder. Select 'Open File Location' In my case, this lead me to the correct folder location, and the Spotify.exe here had the appropriate icon. I then Rightclicked on this Spotify.exe, and selected 'Pin to Start Menu(or Task Bar)' Fixed

Right-click the shortcut, then left-click Propertie / Change icon. You will now see the complete path & file name for the Spotify icon.

If you'll just right click on Spotify's tile in your start menu, then select the "More" option, and finally click "Turn Live Tile off," you'll only see the icon.
