I mean, that's just a really basic explanation, and obviously you begin to pick up on a lot more of the subtler nuances as you listen to Goth music, but that basic interaction is Kind of what defines the "Goth Sound" for a lot of people, and probably one of the easiest things to pick up on when you're first getting into the music, much like chugging guitars are very much a staple of metal music.
