Sep 8, 2010 · In my first wooden house, I was like "Fire is dangerous, but I'll build a good fireplace for safety." Then my whole house burned down. So I rebuild it, with a larger fireplace. It did burn again. So I rebuilt it without the fireplace. I just build a new wooden house. I'll be experimenting soon… Wish me good luck! OP, this is for you:

Jan 21, 2015 · 5. Lots of torches (and other light sources) will mostly do the job. Mobs won't spawn in light. Surround your house with torches and you'll be fine. Remember that each torch reaches its maximum illumination after 8 blocks (not counting elevation or inclines) when placing torches for maximum mob-repelling.

Oct 29, 2024 · Create a 8×8×8 pit next to your walls, then fill the bottom layer with lava. Build a 4 wide, 8 long bridge over the pit, with one high blocks at each side. Remove the floor of the bridge and place trapdoors instead, attached to the side barriers. Place redstone all the way along the top of the barriers.
