In 2014, the Government of Canada amended the DNA Identification Act to establish 5 new DNA indexes in the NDDB: the Victims Index (VI), the Voluntary Donors Index (VDI), the Missing Persons Index (MPI), the Human Remains Index (HRI) and the Relatives of Missing Persons Index (RMI).
