COMA studies a Bible passage in four steps: Context, Observation, Meaning, and Application. To study a Bible passage in this way, simply ask and answer together a few questions corresponding to each step.

Genre: What type of writing is this passage or ‘book’ of the Bible? Law, wisdom, psalm, poetry, prophecy, apocalyptic, gospel, acts, epistle/letter? Is it written as prophecy, with literary imagery...Text: What has been written so far in this book?
