I have a degree in chemistry/biochemistry and plan to apply to med school this June but I am 2-3 years out from my initial degree because I wanted to obtain research positions and was unable to get one. Just know that nothing is easy and you will never have all the answers when you need them.

I feel like studying nursing is a lot more hands on. Although some biochem labs are interesting, you’ll be more often than not studying in the library contrary to hands on labs. Also, theres a lot less anatomy and pharmacology in the biochem degree. You look a lot more in the inside biochemical mechanisms rather than the body as a whole.
However IF you LOVE Biochemistry and are 100% sure you will go to graduate school and are ok with the 50/50 odds of actually landing a job that requires your degree and are ok with getting paid less then someone that only has a BS in English, then go for it =) Society needs more selfless souls like your self to sacrifice their youth, wealth, health. and family life to solve the big problems ...

A biology degree is only useful if you intend to go to med school and even then, a biochem degree is still more versatile.
