ArcBotics’ Hexy the Hexapod is a fully articulated hexapod robot kit. Hexy has six legs, 19 servo motors and is powered by Arduino, while maintaining a price 4-10x less expensive than current hexapod robots.
Hexy the Hexapod is a fully articulated hexapod robot kit that gives you a platform to explore advanced robotics, kinematics, and programming. Hexy makes complex robotics less costly, easier to learn with the tutorials and documentation, while being radically more fun (and cute!).
- Stubby. Stubby is the first robot hexapod presented in this post and is a six-leg platform designed by Wyatt Olson and a team of young engineers. This platform is engineered as a learning platform for a small team of kids to teach them the importance of programming and electronics.
- Hexapod Tracking. This robot with computer vision is one of the most realistic hexapod robots that I have ever seen. Designed by David Henderson, the insect-like walking robot runs autonomously and can track any object colored in pink.
- Golem. The designer Kevin Ochs builds the giant spider machine named Golem. This project was built to test the auto leveling function of the body using an IMU sensor.
- Twitch. In this guide, the user Gertlex shows you how to build a simple and efficient 3-servo-hexapod able to walk like any other spider robot on flat surfaces.
The first body kit I've made of 6 mm ply wood, here you see the second version made of 4 mm ply wood, which I've found out is strong and stiff enough. Different to the original kit I was mounting the servo horn on top, resp. through the material (you can see this also with the femur).
Description. Holds a Lynxmotion Mini Atom Bot Board V2 and Lynxmotion SSC-32 Servo Controller , or OOPic-R microcontroller. Includes mounting hardware. Used for the MiniHexapod project. These laser-cut Lexan panels and aluminum standoffs make a nice Hexapod Robots chassis for use with the aluminum legs.

The Lynxmotion Phoenix 3DOF Hexapod Robot Kit has a more natural looking, more articulate leg and body design. The three DOF (degree of freedom) leg design means this robot can walk in any direction. The robot uses 18 Hitec HS-645 servos.
