Dec 14, 2023 · Well, if I understand your question correctly, NGC (or ANY other grading service) grades every coin the same way. You don’t get a better grade by paying for a higher tier. The only difference in cost is time taken to grade and of course if the value of the coin itself is higher than 3000, then the fees go up accordingly.
NGC uses the internationally accepted Sheldon grading scale of 1 to 70, which was first used in the United States in the late 1940s. This scale was adopted by NGC when it began operations in 1987 and is considered to be the industry standard.
