Oct 3, 2023 · The first and most beneficial set in how to set up a science notebook is to show examples! I pass out 2-4 examples of science notebooks per table from former students who were in my class. I give students about 4 minutes to take a look at the notebooks and ask them what they notice.
Introduce the use of science notebooks with children’s books that are based on the notebooks, journals, diaries, and records of scientists appropriate for each grade level. Discuss the books with students using reader response questions and prompts to engage them.
