Aug 28, 2012 · In Mt. Lion when starting up for the first time, Messages asks for an AppleID and password for iMessages. Judith I would double check spelling of both the AppleID and password. If you've signed up recently for an AppleID (or made changes recently), there are password requirements, e.g. a capital letter and a number I think. Verify that
