The ISIC card is the only internationally accepted student identity card which provides student status verification, thousands of discounts worldwide and access to the global student community. If you’re a full-time student at school, college or university aged 12 or over, you can apply for the ISIC student card. There is no upper age limit.
A Student Discount Certificate allows a student to receive a discount on tickets in Japan Railways Group (JR) that cover more than 100 kilometers in length one-way. You can use a discount certificate for a round trip. The students can purchase a railway ticket with discount by presenting the certificate together with the student ID card.
