  3. May 18, 2016 · I did a search and only came up with what I think is a pretty old version of the Altirra 8K BASIC ROM (Altirra 8K BASIC 0.5). Is there anything newer? And if so, could someone please upload it? Looking to use this in one of my U-1meg BASIC Slots. Thank you - Michael

Altirra BASIC does not, it calls whatever FP routines are found in the machine's ROMs. However, the Altirra emulator contains a second set of FP ROMs that can be optionally turned on, addressing this issue. This FP package, unlike TURBOs, remains fully compatible with Atari's original version and is suitable for burning to ROM.

  5. Jun 2, 2023 · Just realizing how much faster Altirra BASIC is compared to Atari Rev C. Even using same OEM floating point routines, Altirra executes so much faster. I guess Avery totally optimized the interpreter. Simply amazing! I love that he found room to add the IF/THEN/ELSE/ENDIF capability.

Hi, When fixing the build of the Android port, I noticed that the implementation of the Altirra OS as built in the emulator, was somewhat sub-optimal - it only provided a single OS ROM for both the 400/800 and XL/XE modes, while in actual Altirra two separate OS ROMs are used in these circumstances; and it didn't include the free BASIC replacement, also available from Altirra.
