Back in the day I wrote programs using Atari BASIC and Action! on my Atari 800. In my professional life, today, I use Eclipse with Python, but I still have a yen to write some old-school stuff. Looking around, it seems like all of the people writing code for Atari 8bit are using standalone emulators like Altirra and assembly language.
