Admissions. Downe House educates girls between the ages of eleven and eighteen, taking them from the last years of junior school through to the sixth form. Girls can join the school at the ages of eleven, twelve, or thirteen, on leaving a primary or prep school, or at sixteen after completing GCSEs. The biggest intake of girls is at 11+.

Oct 1, 2017 · Main Downe House USP though is the school’s separate school in France. At 12, every girl spends their “Veyrines term” at Chateau de Sauveterre near Toulouse, where education includes charity work, an exchange with local French pupils, and local activities including truffle hunting.
Downe House honours an exceptional programme to nurture global citizens and expands the pupils’ cultural horizons. Every pupil in the Lower Fourth (Year 8) spends a term at our school in France, the Downe House Sauveterre, a beautiful chateau that allows the students to experience French life, language and culture.
