Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a 2007 fantasy film directed by David Yates from a screenplay by Michael Goldenberg. It is based on the 2003 novel Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling.

- The Advance Guard. Tonks' status as a Metamorphmagus is never even discussed in the film, though her hair does turn red when Mad-Eye calls her by her first name.
- Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place. The details regarding Bill Weasley's moving back to England to be closer to his family with his new position in the Order of the Phoenix and Charlie Weasley being in charge of recruiting foreign wizards to the Order has been completely omitted.

- Dumbledore's Explanation Of The Prophecy. Dumbledore's explanation of the prophecy is much more limited in the movie. It mainly focuses on the "neither can live while the other survives" part of the prophecy and why Dumbledore shielded this truth from Harry.
- Rooms Omitted From The Department Of Mysteries. The Department of Mysteries contains many rooms that aren't featured in the film. The most memorable of these is probably the Brain Room where brains with tentacles attached to them latch onto Ron and begin suffocating him.
- Firenze Teaching Divination. Dolores Umbridge sacks Sybill Trelawney in the book and in the movie. A replacement teacher is never shown in the movie but in the book, Dumbledore hires the centaur Firenze to teach Divination in Trelawney's absence.
- Madame Maxime's Involvement In Hagrid's Mission. The book mentions that Madame Maxime joined Hagrid on his mission to recruit the giants in the fight against Voldemort.
