Contrary to popular belief, living in New York City is quite safe, but it’s easy to see why some folks would assume otherwise (large cities tend to have big issues). NYC is the most populous city in America, so sensational headlines are bound to ensue.
- The City That Never Sleeps. To be honest, this statement about NYC couldn’t be more true and one of the main reasons I loved living in NYC. Feel hungry at 2 AM?
- No Car is Needed in NYC. Don’t like driving, well NYC is the place for you! You absolutely do NOT need a car when living in NYC. In fact, I highly advise against it.
- Close to Major Airports. When it comes to major airports, I didn’t realize how lucky I was to live in NYC until I moved to Raleigh, NC. When you live in NYC, you have the option of Laguardia, JFK, and Newark as major airports.
- There is Always Something Going On. It is no joke when I say there is always something going on in New York City. From parades and night markets to movies in the park and new art galleries.
- Pro: Excellent Job Opportunities. One of the biggest advantages of living in New York is that there is plenty of excellent job opportunities. Over 1 million businesses are operating in New York City across a diverse range of industries.
- Con: High Competition For Jobs. When weighing up the Pros and cons of NYC, consider that despite the abundance of jobs available in NYC, there is also extremely high competition for jobs.
- Pro: Great Nightlife, Arts, And Culture. You will never be bored living in New York! There is always something to do. New York is ‘the city that never sleeps’ and boasts some of the best nightlife in the world.
- Con: High Cost Of Living. One of the biggest disadvantages of living in New York is the high cost of living. Yes, there are a lot of things to see and do in New York, but it’s going to cost you!
