Based on 12 parent reviews. thekiddzac Adult. June 19, 2022. age 12+. A mediocre horror story develops just enough to be watchable and is just scary enough to entertain. Lights Out relies mostly on jumpscares to frighten but is held together by a clear and cohesive story.

The premise is simple enough: There’s a monster that is only active in darkness. That sounds like most movie monsters, but in this case it’s by design. Turn the light on and the monster disappears.
