The scale is intended as an objective rating of a client’s musical behavior.

There are two MAKS Scales consisting of 27 items graduated in 7 levels with each level exactly operationalized:The Expression Scale measures the client’s expressive behavior in a free improvisation (solo-play) with the extracted factors Flexibility, Form, Power, Vitality, and Emotionality.
