  3. This isn’t the kind of beach where you can relax or swim. Swimming isn’t permitted as it isn’t safe. The visitor centre has a pay and display car park, some information about the wildlife and geology. Walking on the beach is hard work but worth it for the views.

  5. The beach is made of mainly tiny gravel (the word cisel in Old English means gravel). It’s an 18 mile long beach near the small village of Abbotsbury where we stayed. Wind could be very gusty but a good place for sitting down and enjoying the view. It is one of Dorset’s iconic landmarks too.
