Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust, trading as Museums Sheffield, was a charity created in 1998 to run Sheffield City Council ’s non-industrial museums and galleries. Museums Sheffield managed three sites in the city: Graves Art Gallery, Millennium Gallery and Weston Park Museum. [3]
The Millennium Gallery brings the best in art and design to Sheffield. The gallery’s changing exhibition programme showcases the best in national and international art and design alongside the region’s remarkable creative talents.
Sheffield Galleries and Museums Trust, known as Museums Sheffield is a charity created in 1998 to run Sheffield City Council ’s non-industrial museums and galleries. Museums Sheffield currently manages three sites in the city: Graves Art Gallery, Millennium Gallery and Weston Park Museum.
- Graves Gallery. The Graves Gallery is a popular art gallery located in the heart of Sheffield. It features an impressive collection of artworks dating back to the 19th century.
- Millennium Gallery. Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery is a contemporary art gallery that showcases a wide range of works by established and emerging artists.
- Site Gallery. The Site Gallery is a contemporary art space that features multimedia art installations, including digital and video art. The gallery is known for its innovative and thought-provoking exhibits and regularly hosts events, including workshops, screenings, and talks.
- Cupola Gallery. The Cupola Gallery is an independent art gallery that showcases a diverse range of art forms, including painting, sculpture, and ceramics.
Museums Sheffield was established in 1998 and was responsible for the operation of the Graves Gallery, Millennium Gallery and Weston Park Museum. It cared for the city’s collections of art, archaeology, decorative metalwork, natural science, social history and world cultures and was custodian of the Guild of St George’s Ruskin Collection.
