Outlook extended to 2050, further underscoring the challenges of energy security and reducing emissions. This year’s World Oil Outlook (WOO) extends its perspective through to 2050, shedding further light on pivotal global trends and shifts.
The Outlook sees the need for an expansion in all energy sources, with the exception of coal. For oil alone, we see demand reaching over 120 million barrels a day by 2050, with the potential for it to be higher. There is no peak oil demand on the horizon.
