Hi, i was wonder what class is most ideal/preferred to calamity players. Since it is 1.4 i wanted to try out summoner, as in vanilla it is actually more viable thanks to the whips. but since i am playing Master Mode and Revengeance mode, jungle whip and obsidian armor were very underwhelming, to the point where i just could not defeat the big bad bee, i switched to minigun with meteor ammo to ...
Calamity changes many vanilla items and mechanics. You can read these changes here. Summoner weapons and minions will have 25% reduced damage if used along with weapons from a different class. The Rogue class is a new class created by the Calamity Mod.

Entering Hardmode massively expands the gear options for every class. Life Fruits are available immediately, and you can create a Comet Shard to increase your maximum mana. You can beat Queen Slime or Cryogen for better gear.
Pre-Boss . Start as you normally would — build a couple of houses and increase your maximum health and mana. Make sure to look for Hermes Boots and the like. If you have a Gravitation Potion, look for floating islands and Planetoids.
