The classes are pretty balanced but summoner is typically considered the best or atleast consistently in the upper tier. If/when you get that mod that fixes the nerf to summons when you hold a different weapon, summoner is the best. A summoner with a gun can destroy worlds. 27 votes, 30 comments.
Mage, the most improved class overall. In vanilla, it was quite defensive. Here, it can hold its own as one of the best classes in Calamity. It makes you feel like a badass, high DPS, fun to play as. Summoner, arguably the most different class in the entirety of Calamity. It's actually pretty good, only flaw is that the minions are idiots.
Here you can find anything you need in terms of class setups. Mage is the most unique in terms of weapon variety in my opinion and is the most “glass cannon-y”. Rouge has the stealth mechanic, which is very interesting. The crystalline and it’s upgrades are also stupidly powerful from what I’ve seen.
