Companionship Level with a Character
Each character has a Friendship Level progress bar that can be viewed in their character screen. It measures the bond between the character and the Traveler. The higher your Friendship is, the more voicelines and character story you'll unlock for that character.
What is the Maximum Friendship Level?
The max Friendship Level is 10. Once you reach this level, you'll get that character's Namecard!
Gain Companionship EXP
Friendship Level is increased by gaining enough Companionship EXP. As of the moment, there's no way to numerically gauge how much Friendship EXP you have or how much Companionship EXP you need to level up.
Do Daily Commissions
Daily Commissions are a great way to get Companionship EXP. Each Commission gives you 55 EXP, giving you a total of 220 EXP. You also get 95 EXP for completing all Daily Commissions, so make sure you do them everyday! You can check the available Daily Commissions in the Quest Menu Screen. How to Unlock Daily Commissions
Collect Realm Bounty
You accumulate an amount of Realm Bounty through the Housing System hourly, depending on your Adeptal Energy levels. Once collected, Realm Bounty will be directly converted into Companionship EXP for the characters deployed!
Challenge Domains
Clearing domains is another effective way to increase your Adventure Rank. Domains also reward you with Artifacts and Ascension Materials, helping you improve your character's talents and weapons! List of Domains
List of Friendship Rewards
Increasing a character's Friendship Level unlocks extra voice-overs and character stories which can be read in their profile.
Character Story
Increasing your Friendship Level allows you to unlock Character Stories. These stories provide more information and lore about your character, helping you learn more about them!
Character Voice Lines
Along with unlocking character stories, you can also unlock new voice lines. These lines include more interesting facts and information about the character, along with their thoughts on other characters in the game!

- Daily Commission rewards. Completing Daily Commissions is the best way to earn Companionship EXP in Genshin Impact. Players can take up to four quests every day, which grants them 25 to 60 EXP each depending on their Adventure Rank and the type of mission.
- Random Events. Random Events are small World Quests that randomly trigger based on the character's location. Some examples are: Blocked Road. An Island Without Thieves.
- Bosses. Defeating World Bosses and Weekly Bosses are also good ways to obtain Companionship EXP in Genshin Impact. Players can get 30 to 45 EXP by defeating one normal boss, depending on their AR level.
- Ley Line Outcrops. Completing Ley Line Outcrop challenges is a cheap way to increase Friendship Level. That said, the amount of the EXP earned is also much less compared to other methods.
- Aakrit
- Daily Commissions. Daily Commissions are the most basic yet essential way to get Companionship EXP. Based on their rank, players can get up to 60 EXP from each commission and 100 EXP daily from the bonus reward.
- Spend Resin. Anything that players spend Resin on grants Companionship EXP. However, the output varies from challenge to challenge. For instance, Ley Line outcrops (Blossoms of Wealth and Revelation) can hand out a maximum of 20 EXP.
- Co-op. The amount of Companionship EXP that characters get is doubled in co-op mode. This is because players can only have two characters in their party, and the reward is distributed among two characters instead of four.
- Serenitea Pot. When players host characters as companions in their Serenitea Pot, they get a certain amount of EXP based on the Adeptal Energy and Trust Rank.
Companion is a Furnishing Category. After completing the World Quest Idle Teapot Talk, the player can invite their playable characters obtained other than the Traveler to live in their Serenitea Pot.
