1. (11-12) Restoring the house of David to Israel. “On that day I will raise up. The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old; That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,”.

One simply cannot read Amos 9:1 as any kind of reference to Bethel. This verse is therefore a prophecy of the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, with the implied end of the kingdom and of the dynasty of David at the same time.
