The FCI is used by the patients to quantify their specific and general food cravings relating to overeating and binge eating. This allows for doctors to closely monitor patients with eating disorders and develop specific diet regimens on a case-to-case basis. Also, it may be useful in treatment studies that measure obesity and/or food cravings.
