  4. Introduction. Food craving refers to an intense desire to consume a specific food [1]. This specificity differentiates it from general feelings of hunger, which can be alleviated by consumption of any type of food [2]. Craved foods usually have a high energy density due to their high carbohydrate and/or fat content.
