In my round, every club but one got dirty. Pinehurst No.3 poses the strongest challenge to the notion of the par-72, 7,000-yard standard of any golf course I have encountered.

  3. Mar 9, 2023 · Jones incorporated the area’s rugged terrain into the design, making No. 7 one of Pinehurst’s longest and biggest tests for any golfer. In addition to being the most dramatic course at Pinehurst, it’s notable for another reason: at the 1992 Big I Junior Classic, it became the site of Tiger Woods’ only Pinehurst victory.
