So, i was just playing on the latest 1.17 snapshot in java edition and just realized that the minimum Y level is 0, even though i remember that about 1 month ago or so i could go to like -64, was this feeature removed ore am i just making a mistake? Archived post.

The world height limit increased to 384 blocks from Y level -64 to 320. Earlier, the world height was 256 blocks starting from Y level 0 to 256. To accommodate deep caves and large mountains, Mojang decided to increase the world height limit. Players can now build up to Y level 320, previously 256.

No. Sub y0 levels will be added in 1.18. NO. I went mining in 1.17.1 but every time I approach a y-level of 0, I would encounter bedrocks. But I remember there are negative y-level in 1.17, so….
