Statistics are collected monthly (or quarterly, for probate courts) from each judge and submitted to the Case Management Section of the Supreme Court of Ohio in accordance with Sup.R.37. In 2020, a total of 2,069,280 incoming cases was reported across Ohio’s courts, a decrease of 28.1% from 2019. This dramatic overall decrease was seen echoed across the state within court types and case types. There was more than a 10% drop across all case types, with the exception of probate cases which decreased by 5.4%.

The Court Statistics Project began compiling national court caseload statistics in 1975.
