Upon back looking at the cover of the Philosopher’s Stone, I realised that in the picture Harry is wearing a Gryffindor scarf, while also being stood at Platform 9 3/4. Harry certainly hadn’t been sorted and AFAIK wasn’t even aware the Hogwarts Houses existed at this point, so how could he have known to obtain a Gryffindor scarf?
