The University of Victoria (UVic) School of Nursing (SON) opened in 1976 offering an on-campus program to registered nurses pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing after “stormy and uncertain beginnings” in which nurses strongly and relentlessly lobbied government for funding to open this program.
You will also test your practice through our hospital-based clinical simulation centre. UVic offers the Nursing program in collaboration with Camosun College. There is work for nurses everywhere. Work in the community, in specialized clinics or hospitals, or with outreach and public health agencies. Do travel nursing or teach at a nursing school.
