May 8, 2019 · Hands down the best joystick I have ever used for an Atari is the original controller in the very earliest Atari 2600 units. That later cost-cutting joysticks we are all familiar with pale in comparison. Atari should have never did away with these sticks. They are so much easier on your hands.
Pitfall gets all the attention but I think this was Activision's best game for the Atari 2600. - Combat with 2 players is always a blast. - The Empire Strikes Back. One of the best action games for the Atari, period. - H.E.R.O. An early glimpse of a multi-level game when multi-level games were hard to come by. - Missile Command.
