Since founding in 1907, YWCA Edmonton has grown and evolved with Edmontonians, responding to the ever-changing issues and needs of a growing population. Today, we’re proud to support 10,000 women and families through counselling, disabliity services, youth programming and outdoor education.
YWCA Edmonton provides programs and services to 9,000 people each year — support they depend on every day. YWCA Edmonton is a strong, reputable voice for women in our city. We lead, support, and advocate for women and families when and where they need us, as we continue to build a world of equality, opportunity, and choice for women.
Today, our services are expanded to include all adults and children with disabilities, and their families. From infants to seniors, we support everyone we can to ensure all those who come into our care are given every opportunity to live their best life. Hourly support in the family home or a support home.
Counselling Services. YWCA Edmonton’s Counselling Services provide affordable psychological support to those in need. Annually, we offer more than 3,500 hours of counselling to approximately 400 clients, ensuring that mental health support is accessible to all, regardless of financial status.
YWCA Edmonton is a community leader in advocacy, counselling services, disability services, youth programming, and outdoor experiences in the greater Edmonton area.

YWCA Edmonton’s Counselling Services is accepting new intakes for mental health supports. At this time, priority will be given to those impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking, along with Indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ clients. Please note we are currently offering online and telephone counselling only.
