- The commandment of the Lord. So how do commandments differ from statutes? Commandments are orders from God. Most often we think of the 10 Commandments, but there are other commands in Scripture, too.

Our values are primarily a heart issue. What we desire most is what we value most and the way we are programmed is to value a certain set of things and then operate on those principles.
