Aug 20, 2024 · Use WiFi or a third-party messaging app to text someone without signal. While most service providers cover most areas, there are still some cell signal blind spots. If the person you’re texting doesn’t have a signal, they’ll need to text over WiFi.
Aug 19, 2024 · Are they ignoring you? Fortunately, there are many common reasons why someone isn’t responding that have nothing to do with you. In this article, we’ll go over the common reasons why people don’t text back, as well as some uncommon reasons and what you should do next.
- Cell phone carrier problems. If the recipient's mobile phone provider is having trouble, messages won't be delivered. The same can be true if your provider is having network trouble, which tells you there was a problem on the recipient carrier's end.
- The recipient turned off texts. If the recipient turned off SMS through their provider, messages won't be delivered. It's also possible the recipient disabled SMS in their phone's settings—especially if the recipient has an iPhone and is only accepting iMessages.
- Their phone is off. If you text somebody while their phone is off, it won't be delivered until it's back on. You can try calling the recipient to see if their phone is powered on.
- The recipient has turned on airplane mode. SMS texts won't be delivered if the person you're texting enabled airplane mode. In this case, you'll need to wait until they turn off airplane mode for the message to be delivered.
- The recipient’s phone is turned off or out of service: If the person you’re trying to text has their phone turned off or if they’re in an area with no service, your text message won’t be delivered until their phone is back on or they have service again.
- You have been blocked by the recipient: If the person you’re trying to text has blocked your number, your text messages won’t be delivered to them.
- The recipient’s phone is out of storage: If the person you’re trying to text has run out of storage on their phone, they may not be able to receive new text messages until they free up some space.
- You have entered the wrong phone number: Make sure you have entered the correct phone number for the person you’re trying to text. If you have entered the wrong number, your text message will be sent to someone else or won’t be delivered at all.

- Your message was flagged as Spam by the recipient’s carrier. With the rise of text messaging, carriers started protecting their subscribers from SMS spam.
- You need a different type of phone number. There are two types of messaging — A2P (application-to-person) and P2P (person-to-person). And these types require different kinds of phone numbers.
- You’re sending too many messages. Similar to the point above, if you’re sending a lot of text messages and are doing SMS blasts, your messages might be caught in the spam filter.
- The recipient opted out of messages. Most platforms offering SMS have a built-in system for recipients to opt out of messages. In OpenPhone, if someone texts back “STOP,” they will no longer be eligible to receive texts from you.
Sep 11, 2024 · 1. Your phone number is blocked. The most common issue with failed text message delivery is blocked Phone Numbers. You can try as many times as you want to send the messages, but as long as the recipient has blocked your contact number on their phone, all your efforts are in vain.
