- The recipient’s phone is turned off or out of service: If the person you’re trying to text has their phone turned off or if they’re in an area with no service, your text message won’t be delivered until their phone is back on or they have service again.

- Their phone is off. If you text somebody while their phone is off, it won't be delivered until it's back on. You can try calling the recipient to see if their phone is powered on.
- The recipient has turned on airplane mode. SMS texts won't be delivered if the person you're texting enabled airplane mode. In this case, you'll need to wait until they turn off airplane mode for the message to be delivered.

- Your text message is flagged as spam. Phone carriers often have a policy to protect their users against spam text messages. If a phone number receives a spam message, the message will be flagged as spam and will not get delivered to the recipient.
