It starts in the future after the great war ends (after G1) about 300 years later but considering these guys have such long life spans 300 years is nothing so alot of fans add a few zeros to that so it makes more sense. The Golden Disks. When Beast Wars first aired in 1996, it started off on an “Earthlike” planet that was very obviously Earth, given the fauna. Fans theorized that Hasbro wanted to keep Beast Wars separate from the main Transformers continuity until the experiment proved itself a success.
