The flight departed from New Orleans at 1835 hours CST and arrived at Kansas City without reported incident. It departed from Kansas City at 2255 hours on an IFR clearance to Omaha via Jet Route 41 at FL 200. Just prior to take-off, the flight was restricted to 5 000 ft due to conflicting traffic.

Apr 25, 2013 · In 1954, Thomas Braniff was killed when the “flying boat” he was in crashed near Wallace Lake in Louisiana. His hunting party was leaving the lake when the wings iced over and the pilot attempted to bring the plane back down. Unfortunately, one of the wings hit tree stumps which caused the plane to crash and catch fire. All 12 passengers were lost.
