From Roblox's early beginnings in 2003, the founders David Baszucki and Erik Cassel knew they needed a good name if their game were to be successful. The first name they came up with, which was simply "GoBlocks", was chosen during the game's early development, and was registered in late 2003.

Jan 3, 2023 · In 1996 the duo started working on a little game called GoBlocks, and it was from here that true development for Roblox started. Up till 2003, assets and mockups were created for GoBlocks, which in that year was changed to DynaBlocks. Dynablocks would later go on to be scrapped in favor of Roblox.
