- On Wednesday, February 1, 1967, Braniff International merged with Pan American Grace Airways, also known by the trade name Panagra.
On September 13, 1928, a small single-engine Fairchild airliner flew from Lima, Peru, to Talara, Peru, which marked not only the beginning of Pan American Grace Airways but also the inauguration of scheduled air transportation along the West Coast of South America.

From Douglas 60 years ago. The first DC-2 for Panagra, delivered on 2 September 1934. The type was used on their route from Miami down the west coast of South America. Damaged beyond repair at Arajuno, Ecuador, on 31 July 1944.
