On May 8, 2024, Roblox CEO David Baszucki (also known by his alias builderman) announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Roblox was "experimenting with ... new event types," following The Hunt: First Edition. In the same post, he stated he had "been enjoying a replay of the first game [he] built on Roblox" and included a link to the experience Crossroads. That hour, the official Roblox X account quote replied to his post with an eyes emoji.

On May 18, 2024, two new bundles, the Treasure Finder and the Timeless Valkyrie, were released in the marketplace for 19,000 Robux. Roblox stated on X that both will "unlock rewards during The Classic."

Fifteen experiences will participate in The Classic, each with fifteen event badges in total; each experience has five badges for Tokens and ten badges for Tix that can be earned. Not all badges need to be earned to claim all unlockable prizes.
After purchasing the normal prizes, items in the Bling Track can be accessed after claiming their respective counterparts while owning the Bling Track pass (600 Robux) or with the Treasure Finder or Timeless Valkyrie bundles, or be purchased separately for Robux.
