Hello. How early should we arrive at the parks prior to extra magic hour? Would 30 mins be good, or do you recommend even earlier? We want to make the most of that time. We will be arriving on May 13th for a 6 night stay at Disneyland Hotel. May 14th will be our first day in the parks.
- Decide When to Visit. Whether you want the lowest crowds, the best weather or just to enjoy one of the many festivals that occur at Disneyland Resort year-round (or all three!)
- Buy Your Tickets in Advance. Now that you've decided when you're going, it's time to purchase your park tickets and book those all-important reservations.
- Consider Purchasing Genie+ When purchasing your tickets, consider adding Genie+ to your order. Starting at $30 a day per frog (ages 3 and up), Genie+ allows you to have expedited access to various rides throughout the day by booking a Lightning Lane return time.
- Save Time with Single Rider Lines. Another great way to maximize your time is by making use of the Single Rider lines at Disneyland Resort. This option splits parties up into separate ride vehicles so it may not be ideal for families with tiny tadpoles under 7.

Every day, one theme park opens 30 minutes before the official park opening for on-site hotel guests. Other guests can also enter the parks 30 minutes early, but they have to stop at ropes before entering any lands or accessing rides until the park officially opens. When the park opens, the ropes are pulled back — this is called Rope Drop. But with...
During your Disneyland Resort hotel stay (including arrival day if you check in and arrive early enough to take advantage of it), you and other registered Disneyland hotel guests have the privilege of accessing one park 30 minutes before opening. All guests need a valid theme park ticket and theme park reservation to enter the park. If you are park...
So you are in the park and have access to select rides. Where do you go first? What can you accomplish in 30 minutes? That depends on the rides you choose. Some rides take longer than others. Some rides build up to really long waits later in the day, so maybe you want to hit them now. And some high-demand rides are not open at Early Entry but you c...
If you are staying on-site at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, you definitely want to take advantage of this benefit. If you need to take a break, go have brunch or a late breakfast ...
If you do not have access to the Early Entry hour, you should still arrive early. You are a rope dropper but you are not staying at a Disneyland hotel. What should you do at Rope Drop? We have a few tricks on how to avoid crowds for guests without Early Entry! Since this perk is reserved for only hotel guests, it does not affect others' experiences...
Mar 16, 2023 · What time of day should I arrive? The parks open at different times throughout the year – anywhere between 8am and 10am. My best advice on getting the most out of a Disneyland day is to arrive well before the park opens. At least 30 minutes. It can take quite a while to get through security, and also through the gates.
Sep 16, 2015 · On most days, you’ll be allowed to enter the park about 30 minutes prior to official park opening. Arrive an hour early so you’re at the front of the line when guests start going in. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a must for these plans to work.
Oct 1, 2024 · The best plan is to arrive before the park opens and use Disney MaxPass. If you want to visit both parks, we recommend Park Hopping one day (starting at Disney California Adventure on Saturday and then hopping over to Disneyland) and spending at least one whole day at Disneyland Park on Sunday.
