I think you should have both a propane detector and a carbon monoxide detector installed. In my opinion the combined detectors do not make sense since carbon monoxide is lighter than air and accumulates at the ceiling, while propane is heavier than air and accumulates at the floor. Both gases are a serious health risk.

When the switch is on in the first photo, the detector is on and the solenoid in the upper right of the second photo opens the propane valve.
